Our History
1985 - Brother Jacob Lapp was farming 125 acres in Antwerp, NY. With years of machining experience, Mr. Lapp switched his attention to farming as a way of keeping himself, his wife Annie, and their eight children close to home and close to the land. Mr. Lapp joined a nearby neighbor/friend “to help with a little machining and repair work”. Soon, a partnership developed, and Antwerp Machine & Repair was born.
1987 - Mr. Lapp left farming in NY and moved his family to the village of Pine Grove, PA. He formed a new partnership with Mr. Isaac Risser — it was called L&R Machining. After several years, Mr. Risser left the business to pursue other interests, and he was replaced by his son, James Risser. A steady stream of work from the numerous coal mines in the region kept Jacob and James busy until 1991, when Jacob decided to move his family to Costa Rica to perform mission work through his church.
2005 - The now sole owner of Lapp Cylinder Service, Mr. Lapp reorganized the business and moved into a 9000-sq. ft. facility in Myerstown, PA (17 miles south of Pine Grove).
2018 - 33 years since the founding of Antwerp Machine & Repair, and 13 years since the Myerstown relocation, Mr. Lapp decided the time was right to search for a new steward for his life’s work. January 1st, 2018 was the official start of the business you know today as Keystone Precision Cylinder.
